In honor of Independence Day, President Trump recently sat down with Second Lady Usha Vance on an episode of her podcast. Since then, the conversation has been a topic of discussion with various outlets. Recently, Laura Ingraham shared a few choice words over the moment on The Ingraham Angle.

President Donald Trump Recently Appeared On Usha Vance’s Storytime With The Second Lady

Storytime With the Second Lady is a podcast hosted by Second Lady Usha Vance. The episodes typically feature guests who read a children’s story, from Cheryl Hines reading The Three Little Pigs to JD Vance reading Winnie the Pooh.

During a recent Independence Day special, President Donald Trump himself appeared on the show. For the episode, they appeared in the Oval Office in the White House, as the president read, “Presidents Play.”

Before starting the book, Trump was respectful towards Usha, saying it was an honor for her to visit and even commending her spouse. Throughout the share, the president also weighed in on his predecessors. At one point, he poked fun at President William Howard Taft’s love of baseball games and hot dogs, noting that he was “our heaviest president.”

Later, the president also weighed in on Barack Obama’s athletic abilities, questioning his skills on the court. Trump noted, “I don’t know if he’s a good basketball player. I tend to doubt it,” adding that he seemed more fond of golf. He later teased that Obama “won’t be in the Masters anytime soon.”

At another point, Trump was asked if he liked to read. He mused, “I usually read stories about myself,” later explaining that he meant newspaper pieces covering his administration and life. He also shared that he feels he should use his time serving Americans rather than enjoying the perks of the White House, noting that it had an outdoor swimming pool, teasing that he didn’t think he looked good in a swimsuit. He shared, “My attitude is, you’re at the White House for a short period… and you should work for the people.”

However, one figure ended up criticizing the moment. As noted by Mediaite, this was Fox News personality Laura Ingraham. During a recent episode of The Ingraham Angle, contributor Raymond Arroyo suggested that Trump write his own children’s book about America’s president before several clips from the podcast were played.

Following this, Ingraham offered a blunt assessment. As she claimed, “That was a little uncomfortable.”

The host also mused if Vance was unsure where the conversation was heading at times. As she quipped, trying to read her expressions, “Okay. Where is this going? Where is this going? Where is this going?”
