The Valley Star Nia Sanchez Exposes ‘Creepy’ Trump Encounter
Nia Sanchez and her husband Danny Booko’s close friendship with Bravo stars Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor led to their being cast on The Valley. The Bravo show follows the cast as they navigate the struggles of marriage and raising kids. But before she was a reality star, Nia Sanchez had an interesting encounter with Donald Trump.
Donald Trump was a famous New York City businessman before he decided to run for President. He co-owned the organization that put on beauty pageants, including Miss USA and Miss Universe. Before she became a wife and mother, Ni Sanchez was a beauty queen.
The Valley star represented Nevada in the Miss USA pageant in 2014. She was crowned the winner. Nia Sanchez was a guest on the Skinny But Not Fat podcast this week and shared shocking details about an encounter with Trump on the pageant circuit.
“When Trump owned the Miss USA/Miss Universe organization, there was one time when he brought all of his golf buddies to come watch all of us rehearse. It was actually kind of creepy,” she told podcast host Amanda Hirsch.

Nia Sanchez added that the men took pictures with the pageant contestants. She said that she shook one man’s hand in a way to warn the others not to touch her without asking. Despite her “creepy” encounter with President Trump, The Valley star looks back fondly at pageant days. She said during Season 1 of the Bravo show that winning Miss USA still pays her bills because it gets her a lot of brand collaborations.
Other Pageant Contestants Have Made Similar Allegations
Donald Trump became the sole owner of the Miss USA organization in 2015, but sold the company amid backlash from NBC for his anti-immigration comments on the campaign trail.
He purchased part of the company in 1996. Contestants from the pageant began speaking out in 2016 about his alleged gross behavior behind the scenes. Multiple contestants told BuzzFeed News that Donald Trump walked in on them changing in the dressing room when they were teenagers.
However, other contestants told the outlet that they never saw Trump barge into the dressing room. His campaign denied the allegations when they came out in 2016.
Nia Sanchez’s alleged “creepy” encounter with Trump didn’t ruin the experience for her. She said in a 2024 social media post that she was “forever grateful” for the experience. Share your reaction to her allegations in the comments.
