Joy Behar and Alyssa Farah Griffin have wildly different political beliefs. Alyssa Farah Griffin worked in President Trump’s first administration. She’s since spoken out against his policies, but she’s still a conservative Republican. Joy Behar, on the other hand, is a staunch Democrat. Their differing viewpoints have caused issues in the past, though Joy Behar said that she missed Alyssa Farah Griffin when she was on maternity leave earlier this year.
However, a discussion on The View this week quickly turned to chaos when Joy Behar cussed out her co-host on live television. Whoopi Goldberg resumed her role as moderator after unexpectedly missing Monday’s episode. She brought the topic of Mitch McConnell’s health to the Hot Topics table on Wednesday. The senator, 84, has been in the hospital for three weeks after reportedly going into cardiac arrest in June. His hospitalization only recently became public knowledge.
Future In Question
If he’s unable to continue his duties as senator, the law requires him to step down. However, doing so could potentially put a Democrat in his seat, threatening the Republicans’ majority. Alyssa Farah Griffin cited Mitch McConnell’s age as an issue. But Joy Behar, 83, is nearly the same age as the senator.
“Because this keeps being an issue, we have to find a way to have a conversation about the age and health of some of our aging members of the Senate and our government, without people just shouting ageism and shutting it down,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said.
She continued, I don’t believe in age-capping who’s in elected office. Our own Joy Behar is an example: Everyone ages differently. She’s as beautiful as can be.” The camera panned to Joy Behar, who looked shocked at the mention of her age.
The comedian then made a funny face. Alyssa Farah Griffin tried to backtrack. When the camera cut to Joy Behar again, she seemed to call her co-host a “biotch” to someone off-camera.

Whoopi Goldberg tried to gesture to Alyssa Farah Griffin that Joy Behar’s age was off-limits. However, The View host continued to compare Joy to Mitch McConnell. She insisted that she meant it as a compliment because Joy is “sharp as h*ll” despite her age.
Joy Behar knew the interaction would go viral. When the show returned from a commercial break, she addressed it head-on. She insisted that her reaction was “evil” and that she was just joking around. Alyssa Farah Griffin tried to make amends. “You can roast me any time, Joy!”
