Quebecor-owned Freedom Mobile has launched some Calgary Stampede-only deals on some plans.
Sent in by a reader, the plans appear to be Stampede-exclusive deals that you can only sign up for in person at Freedom’s booth in the marketplace.
Here is the breakdown of the exclusive plans:
- $30/25GB for 18 months (reg. $35/mo) with 1GB of Roam Beyond data for more than 120 destinations
- $35/175GB for 20 months (reg. 45/mo) with 5GB of Roam Beyond data for more than 120 destinations
- $45/250GB with 10GB of Roam Beyond data for more than 120 destinations
As you may have noticed, two of the plans are only temporary credits on existing plans. In the fine print, Freedom notes that to activate the 20-month credit (or the 18-month credit), you must activate a new line on the 175GB plan “during the promotion period.”
Now, if you are planning to check out these plans, it’s worth noting that Freedom recently reduced the data on some of its plans, and the viewer who sent in this tip also noted that the Stampede promotional deals may be slightly different now that there are new plans.
If the promotions are still the same, however, I would recommend checking out these plans if you are attending the Stampede and need a new phone plan. Freedom currently offers a $60/200GB plan, so the 250GB offer is not only more data but also $15 cheaper than Freedom’s highest offering (now that the data has been reduced, anyway).
While the other two are simply credits and will eventually expire, it is worth checking them out if you are looking to switch and are okay with the data amount for the price.
