beabadoobee has released “Switchblade,” the second single from her upcoming album, Pylon, out Sept. 18 via Dirty Hit/Interscope Records.
The track uses the metaphor of a switchblade to mirror themes of self-defense and courage, reflecting on whether it’s better to fight or flee without offering easy answers.

Last month, bea announced Pylon, saying she made the record “in between tours and on tour,” and detailing how confusing and uncertain it feels to be away from home and loved ones. It’s rounded out by collaborations from Hayley Williams, Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, Deftones’ Chino Moreno, and others.
“Pylon is about accepting that negative feelings are going to come back — accepting the insecurity and feeling confused,” she says. “It’s all a necessary part of growing and knowing yourself better. You have to go through all that shit. I have to write about it.”
bea will perform tracks from Pylon on her upcoming Powerlines tour, which will include her first arena run, playing at Madison Square Garden, the Kia Forum, the O2 Arena, and others, with support from Wisp and Violet Grohl on select dates.
