The Red Sox are acquiring outfielder Jahmai Jones from the Tigers, reports Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. Detroit, who designated Jones for assignment last week, will receive a player to be named later in return. Boston has had an open 40-man spot since left-hander Danny Coulombe was designated for assignment a couple of days ago, so Jones can fill that vacancy. Jones is out of options and will also need a spot on the active roster.
