Trigger warning: this article contains references to suicide, which some individuals may find distressing.
Earlier this year, Storage Wars fans were shocked to find out about the passing of star Darrell Sheets. Now, as time goes on, more and more details are emerging about Darrell and the period leading up to his death. Keep reading to find out more about the most recent discovery.
Darrell Sheets Suicide Details
This year, Storage Wars fans went through tragedy as Darrell Sheets was reported to be dead. Apparently, the star was depressed and ended up dying by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It was later revealed that the star was really struggling with depression in the time leading up to his suicide. Not only had he been battling depression, but it was a war he fought for years. As previously reported, he actually shared a heart-wrenching post all the way back in 2018. The caption details exactly what Darrell was going through in his own mind.
“Depression is the Devil’s way of attacking us. It knows no mercy, it takes our smiles, it comes and goes, it ruins our relationships, it takes away our happiness, it leads to suicide in some cases, it destroys all thoughts of positivity, it is a 24/7 battle and allows no rest for the suffering. It’s a very real deal. So please next time someone tells you they have Depression, be kind and know that they spend every minute they have breathing, suffering !!! #storagewars #trustmeiknow”
However, it wasn’t just the depression itself working to bring Darrell down.
Cyberbullying To Blame?
While Darrell already struggled with his own mental health, The Sun reports that there are now findings of severe cyberbullying leading up to the Storage Wars star’s death.
Apparently, just this past January, Darrell told the police he was working with the FBI because of all the cyberbullying he was experiencing. Unfortunately, Darrell didn’t get the kind of help he was looking for from the FBI.
“Darrell, I’m going to work on this, but I’m going to tell you, it could take a month or eight years,” Darrell says the FBI agent told him. “This case is microscopic compared to what we’re looking at.”
Darrell says the bully extorted him for $500,000, called him from over 3,000 different numbers, took over his Facebook page, made it seem like he killed a sex worker, and posted false claims about him online – including that he was dead.
The worst part? The suicide note Darrell left behind details exactly what he was explaining while he was still alive.
“I could not take anymore the Facebook bullying, f*** you [redacted].”
While the cops tried to investigate the person that Darrell thought was bullying him, that person would not cooperate, and since Darrell is no longer around, the case is now unable to move forward.
