Love Island USA Mourns Tragic Death
There have been heartbreaks and hookups this season of Love Island USA. Yet, viewers are fully invested in what will happen five nights a week in Fiji. There have been recouplings and new bombshells being introduced, which kept the spice alive. The show’s app even crashed because so many people were voting, but it is all in good fun. Sadly, tragedy has just struck, and everyone is trying to process what went down. A beloved executive producer for the hit summer series had passed away at the age of 40. As of now, the reason is unknown other than that it was a medical emergency.
James Barker was the music behind the hit series. Fans have learned that the soundtrack for the show is a compilation of current hits and classic tracks. There have been questions about how the music comes together so fast. Moreover, how LIUSA licenses so many bangers, but they do an impeccable job. Much of this was thanks to James, as he previously shared:
“This show is made almost live — it’s about what we shoot on Monday, is edited overnight into Tuesday, and then it goes on air in America Tuesday your time. So, I’m coming to you from Saturday at 4:30 in the morning in Fiji right now and getting ready to go do an episode.”
He also added that they need “hundreds or sometimes thousands of songs” on hand just because the show can be unpredictable. Now, the music for Love Island USA has died as James passed away last week. The show will honor James Barker on Tuesday, June 16th, though it is unclear what they will do:
“ITV America and Peacock will honor in Tuesday’s episode of Love Island USA series Executive Producer James Barker, who passed away last week in Fiji after suffering an unexpected medical emergency.”
A Sad Ending
Love Island USA fans have praised the music, especially when host Ariana Madix walks into the villa. She has entered to the music of Britney Spears and more, but it never fails. This is a hard blow for the series, but James Barker’s legacy will live on. As soon as the news broke, fans and followers headed to his social media to send their love and pay their respects. They have had nothing but appreciation for what he brought to the hit Peacock series. Hopefully, Love Island USA honors him in an incredible way.
