Asus will sell a standalone version of its special OLED ROG Xbox Ally model after only offering it through a bundle.
In a statement to The Verge, the company confirmed that “it’s actively discussing the release schedule for a standalone version of the new Ally” and said stay tuned for announcements.
In June, Asus detailed the Xbox Ally X20, which it’s releasing to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its ROG brand. At the time, this only included the OLED handheld gaming PC with AR glasses that create a 171-inch virtual screen. But of course, many people would just want the new Ally without having to also pay for an expensive wearable, so thankfully, Asus has listened.
The Xbox Ally X20 sports all of the features of last year’s Xbox Ally X, with some additional bells and whistles, including a 7.4-inch OLED equipped with anti-glare glass, new rubberized grips and a transforming D-pad for more precise inputs.
Pricing and launch timing for the Xbox Ally X20 has yet to be confirmed. It should be noted that the Xbox Ally X is priced at $1,499 in Canada, so the X20 will certainly be more than that.
