Former RHOC star Jeana Keough is staying positive amid her recent tongue cancer diagnosis. At 70, this was completely unexpected, but she had some signs that something was off. Now, along with her family and friends, they are doing their best to get through it. Keep reading for more on the latest update regarding Jeana.
Jeana Keough Has A Long Road
RHOC fans may recall that Jeana Keough helped start the hit Bravo reality series. She was among the OG ladies alongside Vicki Gunvalson. As a prominent real estate agent and a former Playboy Playmate, her storyline focused on her business, three children, and contentious marriage. She was married to a former Major League baseball player, but he was distant and often rude. Together, they had two sons, Shane and Colton, plus a daughter, Kara. Jeana worked as an agent to have all of the finer things in life until the recession hit, and then she attempted to downsize.
After Season 5, she popped in as a friend, and that was how she remained. Now that RHOC is in its 20th season, Jeana is back for a few appearances. However, it has just come to light that she has tongue cancer. Her family has set up a GoFundMe to help her through this time, and now they are offering an update. Jeana’s son, Shane Keough, noted how “strong” she is amid all of this, but she’s lucky:
“She’s got a good support network down there.”
Shane and his sister, Kara, are both in Florida while his mother is still in California. Their brother, Colton, is still with her, as are all of her closest friends. He went on to add:
“But you know, it’s tough for everybody, and we’re just trying to make sure she stays on her program so she’s strong when this is done.”
Jeana Keough’s daughter is not as worried about her mother. She knows how tough she is, and that is helping ger her by:
“I think she’ll get cancer to bend to her will, like she does with everything else in life. We’re choosing to stay in that mindset.”
Bravolebs Rally
Many Bravolebs have rallied around Jeana Keough. Her former RHOC co-stars donated to Jeana’s GoFundMe, including Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge. They contributed $500 each, plus Andy Cohen threw in $5K. However, some fans felt that it was a tad tone deaf for the family to ask for money when Jeana had been very well off for a very long time:
- Sorry she has cancer. But a GoFundMe for a wealthy person?? I’m not giving my money to someone who has much more than me.
- I’m sorry for the unfortunate medical situation, but to start a go fund me when it’s likely she has the financial resources to pay for her own treatment is obscene!!!
- These GFM’s are getting INSANE! Most of us are struggling and the wealthy are asking for handouts?
- Sad to hear about Jeana! But I don’t understand how we’re supposed to open our pocket to donate to someone who has never lived paycheck to paycheck. If it was any of us Jeana nor her family would donate to our go fund
