The Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) and Circana have revealed the best-selling games in Canada in June 2026.
The full list is as follows. Note that digital sales are not included for Nintendo games.
- Forza Horizon 6 (Playground Games/Xbox)
- Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (Traveller’s Tales/Warner Bros. Games)
- 007 First Light (IO Interactive)
- Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Nintendo)
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Square Enix)
- Resident Evil Requiem (Capcom)
- Star Fox (Nintendo)
- Minecraft (Mojang/Xbox)
- The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (Square Enix)
- Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar Games/Take-Two Interactive)
Notably, this yet another month where neither NHL 26 nor EA Sports FC 26, which were both developed by EA Vancouver, made the list — even with the FIFA World Cup and Canada’s best-ever performance in it. Normally, at least a couple of Canadian-made games are in the top 10. (With that said, it’s worth noting that Rockstar Toronto is one of many support studios that assisted lead developer Rockstar North in Scotland on GTA V.)
Outside of (the lack of) Canadian connections, what’s interesting about June’s list is the top four and their respective placements are the same as they were in May. In other words, Forza Horizon 6 retaining its top spot is good news for Xbox, which has otherwise been a mess amid its layoffs of 3,200 people.
Xbox aside, the biggest differences in June are the inclusion of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (which was just ported to Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S), the new Star Fox remake and Square Enix’s latest HD-2D RPG, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.
For context, here’s June’s top 10 best-selling games in the U.S., per Circana:
- UFC 6 (EA Vancouver/EA)
- Meccha Chameleon (Lemorion_1224)
- 007 First Light (IO Interactive)
- Star Fox (Nintendo)
- Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (Traveller’s Tales/Warner Bros. Games)
- Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Nintendo)
- Forza Horizon 6 (Playground Games/Xbox)
- MLB The Show 26 (San Diego Studio/PlayStation)
- Minecraft (Mojang/Xbox)
- NBA 2K26 (Visual Concepts/Take-Two Interactive)
Amusingly, the U.S. list has a Canadian game, UFC 6, which didn’t make our top 10. The hit multiplayer game Meccha Chameleon also didn’t even crack our list. On the flip side, our list had Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and The Adventures of Elliot while they were both absent on the U.S. top 10, demonstrating, as always, that JRPGs are especially popular in Canada.
Looking ahead to July’s inevitable list, it should be noted that the month has been fairly quiet for big releases. Some of the most prominent titles are Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, Splatoon Raiders, EA’s EA Sports College Football 26 and Xbox’s Halo: Campaign Evolved.
