Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle with Bradley Barcola over a potential move from Paris Saint-Germain, although the two clubs are still some way apart in negotiations.
The 23-year-old winger has informed PSG he does not intend to sign a new contract, increasing the likelihood of a transfer before the end of the summer window.
Barcola has held talks with Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola and several senior figures at the club in recent days, and is understood to be keen on the move as he looks to test himself in the Premier League.
However, despite reports elsewhere, no formal contract has been agreed between the France international and Liverpool.
Discussions between the clubs have now begun, but PSG remain firm over their valuation of the former Lyon forward.
The French champions are now willing to listen to offers for Barcola, although there is still a significant gap between the two sides over a transfer fee.
Liverpool hope Barcola’s desire to make the move will help accelerate negotiations in the coming days, but an agreement between the clubs has yet to be reached.
