Dancing With the Stars fan favorite Andy Richter has suffered a heartbreaking and tragic death. He shared the news with his fans and followers, who were all immensely supportive. So, what happened in the DWTS celebrity’s life? Keep reading for more details.
Andy Richter Loses A Very Special Loved One
DWTS viewers fell hard for Andy Richter. He was not the best dancer when the show began, but he had passion, and he had heart. That was what kept the judges praising him weekly and viewers voting, even though there were better dancers. He was paired with Emma Slater, and he just emanated joy, but eventually they were eliminated, which was bound to happen. When Andy had to undergo surgery, his dancing family was right there cheering him on and sending so much love. Now, he needs them more than ever.
Andy took to social media to reveal that his mother, Glenda Swanson, passed away on Tuesday, July 28th. It was the day before her 86th birthday, but she was peaceful. Glenda had spent the weekend in hospice, but this followed a horrid fall followed by a stroke, so she had been through an incredible amount. Andy Richter was able to see his mother, who looked at him, but could not speak. There was a lot of laughter mixed with tears, but in the end, she is now at peace. He shared a series of snaps of his mother, including with her grandchildren and one when she was young.
Immediately, Andy’s DWTS co-stars and many pros chimed in to send their love to him and his family. Glenda Swanson left behind four children, whom she worked tirelessly for. That was one thing that the comedian made very clear and wanted his fans and followers to know about his mother. Fortunately, he was able to be there before she passed and let her know how valued she was in his life.
