Lisa Vanderpump is no stranger to being sued. However, a recent lawsuit has her fighting back. Keep reading to find out what happened and what Lisa is saying about it.
An Incident At Her House
As most people with large sums of money and mansions do, Lisa Vanderpump often has people in her home working on it. However, one person who was working inside Lisa’s home filed complaints and says that he got hurt. As previously reported, Lisa was sued after a man reported getting injured while working within her Beverly Hills mansion. The home boasts 5 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, and 801 square feet of space. However, per claims during the case, it must not be very well maintained.
The man working for Lisa, Eric Nieto, says that he was working inside the home when his “foot got stuck on a stair tread on the basement stairs.” Apparently, he also says that the stairs were poorly maintained, which is what caused the injury. Now, he is looking for $150K for his pain and suffering as well as $45K for medical expenses.
While this happened back in November of 2023, he didn’t file the complaint until 2025 which is why it is just now coming to light.
According to court documents, this injury has taken a lot out of him and has required extensive care. “He continues to suffer pain, functional limitations, and will require further medical treatment,” the documents say.
Lisa Vanderpump Isn’t Buying It
Unfortunately for Eric, Lisa isn’t buying it. She says that any negligence and carelessness is on Eric, not her or her home.
“If there was any negligence and carelessness contributing to the damages and/or injuries, it was the negligence and carelessness of Plaintiff [Nieto],” People reports.
Eric was also an independent contractor. Because of this, she says that she is “immune from liability for injuries caused to [Nieto] by the contractor’s alleged negligence in performing the work.”
At this time, there are no new updates from Eric. Of course, there’s no telling how this will go. However, Lisa is a very seasoned business owner who has benefited in the business for a long time. It seems likely she not only would understand the law but also that she would be able to find a lawyer to back it up. Not only has she been on TV and owned several restaurants. She also recently opened the iconic Vanderpump Hotel.
Only time will tell who comes out on top for this case.
Who do you think is at fault for this mishap? Is it Lisa’s fault or the contractor’s? Let us know what you think in the comments below. Come back to TV Shows Ace for more updates.
