Cardi B is setting the record straight about her appearance following renewed speculation over whether she altered her famous curves. During a recent Instagram Live, the rapper confirmed that she previously had her butt injections reduced. However, she denied recently undergoing surgery to achieve her current figure and said she has not had another procedure since January 2024. Her candid admission came days after her appearance at Pacha NYC sparked widespread discussion about her noticeably plump posterior.
Cardi addressed the rumors after fans repeatedly encouraged her to undergo a reduction. “A lot of y’all keep telling me to go get my a-s reduced,” the “WAP” rapper said, per Daily Mail. “I don’t need to go get my *ss reduced. News flash: I did get my a-s reduced.”
The 33-year-old explained that reversing the cosmetic work entirely would not be as simple as some fans seem to believe. Cardi said she “can’t just go and lipo[suction] my butt, because my skin is, like, kinda loose,” which she explained was “why my *ss shakes so much.”
Although liposuction could remove additional volume, the rapper claimed that taking that approach could cause her backside to droop due to loose skin. Correcting that result would require a more invasive operation and a lengthy recovery period, neither of which currently appeals to her. “So I would have to cut myself. And I’m not cutting myself,” Cardi continued. “I’m not sitting down for four months. I’m outside, like I said.”
Rapper Says She Is ‘Comfortable’ With Her Current Body
Despite the constant commentary surrounding her curves, Cardi insisted she is happy with her appearance. “I like my body how it looks right now. I’m comfortable in my skin,” she said.
The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker also emphasized that she has never attempted to hide her cosmetic procedures from the public. “I’m very, very honest,” she said. “First of all, I got two lipos and one a-s reduction.”
Cardi explained that she originally decided to reduce the injections because she felt the exaggerated shape did not properly suit her naturally small frame. “First thing first, I am a small girl,” she said. “I’m a very small, petite girl. My mom is petite. My sister’s petite. My aunts are small.”
While Cardi was willing to explain her decisions, she also made it clear that she does not believe fans are entitled to continually scrutinize her body. “Y’all acting like y’all new to this,” she said. “Y’all been seeing my body for how many years now? Too many.”

Cardi also addressed claims that her increasingly defined waist and svelte figure must be the result of additional cosmetic procedures. “Oh, ‘You look super super snatched,’” she said mockingly. “Yes, b-tch, just stop hating. I’ll tell you what I do so I could look snatched.”
The Grammy winner claimed that her current approach includes consuming lean proteins such as grilled chicken and salmon. She also prioritizes fiber, including through healthy beverages.
Cardi cautioned her followers against attempting to “starve” themselves to lose weight, as extreme restriction can be dangerous and counterproductive. “That’s what I do. I’m being as honest as possible,” she continued, according to PEOPLE. “[Anytime] someone’s talking about, oh, I look good, y’all say I’m doing surgery.”
The rapper then offered a blunt response to those continuing to question her figure. “So shut the f-ck up,” she said, urging viewers not to behave like “hating a-s b-tches.”

Kehlani Was Shocked By Cardi B’s Curves
The latest discussion follows a viral backstage encounter between Cardi and Kehlani in February. During the exchange, which was captured in an Instagram video posted by radio personality Big Boy, Kehlani appeared stunned after touching the rapper’s backside. “You have so much a-s!” Kehlani exclaimed in the crowded hallway.
Cardi then announced that she was considering having more of her injections removed once she completed her tour. “After this tour, I’m taking some out,” she said. “After this tour, I don’t wanna hear nobody for three months. I’m going to Colombia; nobody hit me up, nothing. I’m taking this a-s out!”
