Hope is known to many for portraying Sally Spectra on The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. Alderson became known to many for playing Starr Manning on One Life to Live. Following this, after briefly reprising Starr, she originated the role of Kiki Jerome on General Hospital.
However, the two also have another connection. They both had relationships with General Hospital actor Chad Duell. Hope dated Duell in 2016, even becoming engaged, but ultimately split by 2021. Prior to this, Duell was in a relationship with Alderson from 2012 to 2015. Following both relationships, Duell started a relationship with Luana Lucci. Their son was born in 2023.
In a recent, since expired Instagram Stories share, both actresses shared their own their spin on the “preparing for my Netflix documentary” social media trend. On both of their accounts, they featured Bella, a pup that Alderson and Duell had during their relationship. With this trend, people pretend that they are about to discuss a serious, dramatic moment when speaking about something perfectly mundane.
Bella Gave The Two Actresses A Further Connection Concerning Their Past Relationships
Acting as if a producer was grilling them, the two clinked glasses of wine. The captioned the share, “Who’s ready for the Doc?”
Bella gave the two stars another connection. Bella was raised by Hope and Duell after the latter’s relationship with Alderson came to an end. Hope kept ownership of Bella after she and Duell called it quits themselves.
As noted by Soap Opera Digest, Alderson is now engaged to actor Taylor Crousore. The two share a daughter, Kiera, who was born in early 2024.
As the outlet noted, Alderson and Duell decided to part ways after she left General Hospital and moved back to the East Coast. Back in 2019, she shared, “When we ended things, we didn’t end things in a mean way or a nasty way. I had been toying with the idea of coming back to Philly for a while and that was really hard on us, and there were just other things in the relationship where we realized maybe we weren’t right for each other, which is obviously such a hard thing to realize when you care about someone so much… We really ended things on a beautiful note.”
For his part, Duell stepped away from Port Charles and his character, Michael Corinthos, back in November 2024. Rory Gibson since took over the part on the soap.
