Season 30 of The Voice is set to premiere on September 21st with two returning coaches and two brand new ones. Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson are back, while Queen Latifah and Riley Green will spin the chairs for the first time. Unfortunately, OG host Carson Daly is allegedly done with the series. So, when will his last episode be? Keep reading for more details.
Carson Daly Is A Voice OG
When The Voice began in 2011, there were four coaches: Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera. The host was Carson Daly, who spent years on MTV helming TRL. He became so close to the show’s coaches that he officiated Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s 2021 wedding. There have been rotating coaches as time has gone by, but the one constant has always been Carson. However, it appears that his time with the reality singing competition is up.
He will be there for Season 30, which is in progress, but will allegedly bow out for Season 31. Carson Daly works on the Today Show, as well, and has been struggling with flying back and forth from New York to California. Per an insider:
“He wasn’t able to make the upcoming season’s schedule work with his Today Show schedule. So his Today workload mixed with not wanting to be away from family this next year made him say ‘no’ to hosting 31.”
However, Carson will still be an EP on The Voice, as he wants to be involved. As for what the future holds, he could return for Season 32 if the show gets renewed and he chooses to. This is extremely hard for the series given that he was the last remaining OG on the show. Yes, Adam Levine had come back, but Carson had been there from the beginning and never left.
30 Seasons Of The Voice
When followers learned that Carson Daly was exiting The Voice, there was one question: how could there be thirty seasons? No one could believe that the show had been on this long, and then they wanted to know who would replace him. Someone suggested Mario Lopez as a joke, while others fondly remembered Carson from his MTV days. A short while back, a Reddit thread was started, and a few names were thrown around:
- I would like to see nick cannon or Ellen take over
- I would rather see Cedric the Entertainer in this role.
Hopefully, Carson Daly rethinks this, if he is in fact leaving, because he is synonymous with The Voice. Will you miss him as the host, or is it time for someone new? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
