The View recently went on a summer break, but an insider has shared that things are already going to be different when the show returns this September. In particular, many of the show’s co-hosts are being impacted, with various cost-cutting changes taking place.
The View Is Expected To Come Back From Summer Break Sometime After Labor Day
Fans have been tuning in to The View ever since the show made its debut in 1997. Over the years, viewers have seen a number of co-hosts sit at the show’s table. The latest lineup includes Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Sara Haines.
The View is currently on a summer break, with Season 29 wrapping up in late July. With the show currently airing reruns, new live episodes are expected to return after Labor Day.
Before the show returns, however, an inside source recently claimed that the co-hosts might not be getting the all-star treatment on the show anymore. Speaking with Page Six, an insider shared that the series has been dealing with several budget cuts.
While the cuts are expected to affect all of the co-hosts, some have been impacted more than others. The outlet claimed that Goldberg is making a mid-seven-figure salary, being the highest paid in the group; it was shared that Farah Griffin wasn’t making the same. Reportedly, she was allegedly even denied a raise after asking for one.
This included large pay cuts for the co-hosts. However, they also included budget cuts towards the show’s wardrobe. As the insiders noted, this was causing tension behind the scenes.
The Insider Claimed That The Talk Show Won’t Be Able To Afford Halloween This Upcoming October
A source explained, “They’re all mad because they were all wearing really expensive designer clothes, and now it’s the same budget of a Wendy Williams-type show versus a marquee daytime show. They keep downsizing and downsizing and downsizing.”
As the talk show is set to return for a new season, news cuts are expected. Filming space has been downgraded, and the show will skip the fan-favorite Halloween show this year.
Another alleged issue is advertisers. Producer integrations have also become less prominent on the show as advertisers have branched out to some of the show’s competitors.
Ultimately, the source shared, “There are definitely tensions with ABC.” A rep for The View could not be reached for comment with the outlet.
