Asus announced when its latest gaming handheld, the ROG Xbox Ally X20, will be available ahead of Gamescom on Aug. 25. Moreover, we finally learned the price — an eye-watering $1,899 in Canada.
And if for some reason you wanted to spend even more money, Asus also has a bundle with the Ally X20 and the ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 augmented reality (AR) glasses.
The Xbox Ally X20 sports a translucent black chassis with gold-accented internals and debuts ROG’s Nebula HDR OLED display. The screen measures in at 7.4 inches with a 1080p resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate.
Other specs include an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and an 80Wh battery. Those are very similar specs to the ROG Xbox Ally X, with the big difference being the larger OLED display.
Meanwhile, the ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 glasses sport 0.55-inch Sony Micro OLED displays with a per-eye resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, or 240Hz with frame boost. The glasses also feature Bose speakers and a mic with noise cancellation.

As mentioned up top, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 on its own costs $1,899 in Canada, while the bundle with the AR glasses jumps up to $3,499. Notably, that makes it quite a bit more expensive than the Xbox Ally X at $1,499, and even more than the regular Xbox Ally at $799.
While MobileSyrup liked both the Xbox Ally models when they launched last year, we also cited the high price as an issue. The Xbox Ally X20 costs even more without adding a ton to the formula, so I’m not sure it’s worth the money.

Still, if you want to buy one, the standalone Xbox Ally X20 will be available for pre-order starting today at Best Buy, and on Sept. 24 at the Asus Store, while the bundle with the ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 AR glasses will be available for pre-order starting Sept. 24. Both begin shipping on October 15.
