She said, “I was 30 years old when I learned the truth, that the man I called ‘Dad’ my entire life was not my biological father. It changed everything I thought I knew about who I was.”
By the time she intended to connect with Jordan, he had already passed away, leaving her with unresolved questions.
“I never got to hear his voice, look him in the eyes, or ask him why. I’ll carry those unanswered questions with me for the rest of my life,” she said, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
In the music video, the singer was captured sitting down in a chair surrounded by low lighting, which set the mood for the somber tone. She could be seen going through old write-ups as she sang on.
The track serves as the lead single for her upcoming record, “The Hard Truth,” arriving October 2.
