Dolly Parton Passed Away After A Brief Illness
The one thing about Dolly Parton was that she was always filled with energy, personality, and light. She was involved in so many business ventures, was a singer, an actress, and so much more. Plus, she was incredibly philanthropic and wanted to encourage everyone to be the absolute best that they could be. Sadly, her husband of sixty years, Carl Dean, passed away in March 2025, and that was a huge devastation. It seemed she changed, and that alarmed fans and friends, fearing she could never recover.
Her health was never the same; she began postponing, canceling, and missing events. Then, on August 25th, 2026, Dolly’s nephew announced that she had passed away. This made time stand still, and no one quite knew how to process the information. Now, her funeral plans have been revealed, and they are the polar opposite of Miss Dolly. Rather than something loud and elaborate, she has opted for a private event. Per her Instagram:
“At Dolly’s request, a small, private service will be held for immediate family. Dolly’s fans and friends from around the world are encouraged to pay tribute to Dolly on social media by tagging @DollyParton or by leaving a message at http://www.dollyparton.com.”
So, the idea seems to be that the family will unite to celebrate the icon. However, they are also encouraging everyone around the world to do the same with one another by sharing love and memories of the award-winning performer.
Allegedly, Dolly Parton will also be buried next to Carl Dean, so they can spend eternity together. They had a beautiful love story that spanned six decades and clearly could not live without each other.
