Jelly Roll just hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a week while Kimmel was on vacation, and viewers were torn. Some felt that they saw a more down-to-earth and level side, while others could not wait for Kimmel to return. Unfortunately for the musical superstar, this hosting gig ended up getting him banned from the Florida Panhandle. So, how did that happen? Keep reading for more details.
Jelly Roll Was One Of Many Guest Hosts
While Jimmy Kimmel was on summer hiatus, he had a bevy of amazing guests to appeal to all viewers. They included Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Rosie O’Donnell, and of course, Jelly Roll. Rosie was one to watch, as she had not hosted for some time and actually left America upon President Donald Trump’s reelection. Many were thrilled to see her back and felt that she should have her own late-night show. However, Jelly has caused a stir with his controversial political affiliations.
Regardless, he has hosted Jimmy Kimmel in the past and did a decent job. Moreover, he took a jab at the president, which viewers were stunned by. They always thought that, although he did not speak on politics, he was aligned with President Trump. So, to speak against him was shocking, to say the least. Now, this move has hurt Jelly Roll, as it has been revealed that it led to him being banned from the Florida Panhandle. U.S. Representative Jimmy Patronis was less than thrilled with Jelly speaking ill of the president, even if it was all in good fun. Therefore, he posted a statement on X:
- @JellyRoll615 is 100% not welcomed to Florida’s panhandle. I don’t even want to see his bus on I-10. He’s always been the token “country” star the libs in California are allowed to enjoy. (He ain’t country, never was.) Take the TDS elsewhere, loser.
This did not sit well with those who saw it, as they felt there were more pressing issues in the Panhandle than some silly comments.
This Is Ridiculous
What Jelly Roll said should not have gotten him banned from the Florida Panhandle, at least according to followers who saw what Rep. Jimmy Patronis wrote. They immediately jumped in and responded, believing that there were so many bigger issues going on that should be addressed. Instead, he was focusing on a late-night talk show joke:
- Wow, that is a pretty severe and controlling decision to make on behalf of your community, doesn’t sound to healthy of a town to live in.
- Who are you to speak for Floridians in the panhandle? Don’t get confused, you were elected to represent on local issues to a legislature not become Pope Panhandle
- Please stop worrying about what a celebrity has said/did and focus on the panhandle. When I get back there in 2 or 3 years I expect a significant change – you promised it, now deliver it. This should have never been posted to X. Create a fake account for stuff like this.
The interesting part is that Jelly Roll just announced that he is taking a multi-year hiatus from touring. So, it does not matter much.
Do you think that this was necessary, or should Jelly Roll be allowed to say whatever when he’s hosting? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
