Candace Cameron Bure’s time on The View was short but memorable. She left the daytime talk show after just two seasons. The Full House alum is outspoken about her Christian faith and conservative values, putting her at odds with the show’s other hosts. She broke her silence and addressed whether she’ll return to The View for Season 30. Keep reading for all the details.

    The View Celebrates 30 Seasons

Barbara Walters created The View in 1997. She envisioned the talk show to feature female voices from differing backgrounds. She would be quite proud to see that the show is still on, and even thriving, after 29 seasons. Season 30 kicks off on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Chatter began during its summer hiatus that the show planned to bring back former co-hosts to celebrate its milestone season. Rosie O’Donnell claimed that she was asked back, though a producer with the show later said it wasn’t official just yet. Actress Candace Cameron Bure joined The View as co-host for Season 19 but she left after Season 20.

She has since said that she didn’t expect the show to get so political. The Full House star butted heads with fellow child star and co-host Raven-Symoné in 2015. The panel was discussing a bakery in Oregon that refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. The Cosby Show star came out as gay in 2013 and is now married to Miranda Pearman-Maday.

Candace Cameron Bure and Raven-Symoné strongly disagreed about the bakery’s right to refuse service based on their religious beliefs. The Full House star left Hallmark in 2022 to join the Great American Family network because she felt GAF movies kept “traditional marriage at the core.” Hallmark began airing movies with LGBTQ+ storylines in 2020.

Candace Cameron Bure Breaks Silence on The View Return

Candace Cameron Bure left The View in 2016. She’s returned to the show as a guest to promote various projects. But will she return in Season 30 as a former co-host? She shared her thoughts on the subject with CinemaBlend.

“You know, funny enough, I just started that conversation with the producers of The View, so I don’t know. It’s always interesting to go back there. I don’t really like talking about politics anymore publicly, but The View is also so iconic, and so I always like looking at those opportunities,” she said.

The actress seemed hesitant to return because of the political nature of the show. However, Candace Cameron Bure ultimately felt that the show needs her to return. “I like being a voice that represents my point of view, too, which I don’t think they really represent very well on that show. [Laughs.] So I don’t know. I might have to stop back,” she said.

If Candace Cameron Bure doesn’t return to The View, her fans can still catch her on TV this fall. She’s among the celebrities competing on Season 5 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The new season debuts on Fox on Thursday, September 24, at 9:00 PM Eastern.
