Franchise quarterback Davis Alexander was a limited participant in practice with the Montreal Alouettes on Tuesday, but it doesn’t appear there’s any chance he’ll miss Friday’s game against the B.C. Lions.

“I’ll be ready to go,” he told the media in Montreal on Tuesday. “100 percent.”

The five-foot-eleven, 210-pound passer momentarily left Montreal’s game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday night, though he returned to finish the contest. He completed 64.5 percent of his passes for 257 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions in the 44-28 loss.

“We really don’t know exactly what happened, honestly, because when the play happened, I grabbed for my calf on the TV copy, so when they were evaluating me, all I was feeling was my ankle,” said Alexander.

“The next day, all I was feeling was my calf, so it’s hard to tell, but we got what we needed to get done, and I’ll be good to go.”

The 27-year-old indicated he feels “the sorest (he’s) ever been” after a game, but reiterated there’s “no chance” he won’t play against B.C.

Head coach Jason Maas was initially concerned when he saw Alexander go down, before breathing a sigh of relief when the quarterback reentered the game.

“(It felt) terrible. I don’t ever like to see any of our guys on the ground. I know what he’s been playing with, how tough he is, and all those things,” said Maas.

“You see the type of hit that brought him down and you’re just thinking the worst kind of thing, but I know how tough he is and I knew if there was a chance he can get back in there, he would, so I was very thankful when he goes into the tent and comes back out, and says he’s good to go. That was great.”

Alexander has started all 11 regular-season games for the Alouettes this year, completing 73.3 percent of his passes for 3,657 yards, 24 touchdowns, and two interceptions. He has also rushed for 79 yards and one score.

The native of Gig Harbor, Wash. is in his fifth season with Montreal, having won a Grey Cup with the team in a depth role in 2023. Over 68 career regular-season games, he has completed 70.2 percent of his passes for 7,173 yards, 40 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

The Montreal Alouettes (9-2) will host the B.C. Lions (6-5) at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium on Friday, September 4 with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EDT. Last week, the Lions crushed the Ottawa Redblacks to win a fifth-straight game, while the Alouettes snapped their seven-game winning streak with an upset loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The weather forecast in Montreal calls for a high of 21 degrees and a 30 percent chance of showers. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on 730 CKNW (English) or Sher-E-Punjab Radio AM 600 (Punjabi) in Vancouver or TSN 690 (English) or 99.5 Montreal (French) in Montreal.
