Fans recently saw Season 24 of American Idol end with Hannah Harper’s big win. Throughout this season, fans saw her get a lot of support from one judge in particular: Carrie Underwood. Recently, Harper herself opened up about the support she received from the winning contestant-turned-judge.
Hannah Harper Shared A Few Touching Moments Between Her & Carrie Underwood Prior To Her American Idol Win
Viewers first encountered Harper on Season 24 of American Idol. Prior to this, she was part of a traveling family bluegrass band.
Ultimately, Harper ended up the season’s winner. She was one of the first female country singers to win the show since Season 4’s Carrie Underwood, who served as a judge during Harper’s season.
Throughout the season, and beyond, fans also saw a lot of moments between Underwood and Harper. As previously reported, on social media, Harper even shared a gift basket she received from Underwood earlier in the season.
Recently, during an interview with TV Insider, Harper opened up about Underwood’s support throughout the season. He shared, “Each week, we got the chance to mingle with them for just a few minutes before the press line. Carrie [Underwood] was really encouraging, just as a mom. She relates.”
Harper Shared A Few Kind Words For All Three Judges Overall
Harper noted, “She was just like, “Anything you need in the industry, I want to be available, help you with whatever you need.” That was really nice.”
Harper then shared kind words for all three judges as a whole. As she continued, “I think just getting to chat with them after the show and hearing how genuine they are. They’re real people who just want to encourage us every step of the way. It was one of the highlights of the whole competition.”

As fans know, Underwood would continue to support Harper even after the season ended. As previously reported, she would even turn out to be part of Harper’s debut at the Grand Ole Opry.
Now that Harper is moving forward with her music career, she also shared how she’ll make use of what he learned on Idol. She noted, “Going forward … you just have to be confident in knowing your ability, and you’re exactly where you need to be.”
“I walked into the competition feeling small and towards the end I stood taller, not because of my ability necessarily, but knowing that there’s a crowd of people who want to hear what I have to say. That’s a great feeling.”
