However, his reputation and legacy may never recover from the tragic accident. When he fired a gun on the set of the movie Rust in 2021, he thought it had a “dummy” round in it. But it had live ammunition that struck cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza. The director walked away with injuries, but Halyna Hutchins lost her life.
Prosecutors filed charges against Alec Baldwin twice, but the charges were eventually dismissed. He still faces at least one civil lawsuit. He opened up about the aftermath of the tragedy on The Baldwins, a reality show about his family that aired on TLC for one season.
Alec Baldwin has reportedly had a difficult time finding work after the tragic accident. Instead, he’s been spending more time at home with his wife, Hilaria, and their seven children.
“And now he likes to take on the lion’s share of child-minding, allowing Hilaria time and space to do her own thing, especially as she’s got plenty of work projects and other passions that take up so much of her time,” a source told Radar Online about the actor becoming a stay-at-home dad.
However, taking care of the large brood has reportedly worn the actor down. “It’s no wonder he’s walking around like this, exhausted zombie with bags under his eyes 24/7,” the insider said.
