A senior Senate Republican says President Trump, who abruptly changed his weekend travel plans, must “finish what we started” by striking Iran instead of trying to secure a deal with the regime. Sen. Roger Wicker, Mississippi Republican and chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Mr. Trump faces a moment that will define his legacy as Pakistani mediators work on a peace deal. “Further pursuit of an agreement with Iran’s Islamist regime risks a perception of weakness. We must finish what we started. It is past time for action,” Mr. Wicker said on X. Mr. Trump has said he…

Sheinbaum’s mañanera in 60 seconds 🇺🇸 Sheinbaum outlines limits of U.S. security cooperation to Mullin: In a Thursday meeting with U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, Sheinbaum said she explained that Mexican law and the Constitution prohibit joint security operations on Mexican soil — a direct reference to last month’s unauthorized CIA participation in a Chihuahua drug lab raid. She described the bilateral relationship as one of “collaboration,” not “subordination,” and proposed more frequent security meetings to avoid future misunderstandings. 🇨🇺 President questions U.S. indictment of Raúl Castro: Sheinbaum pushed back on the U.S. Justice Department’s unsealing of a murder indictment against…
Though The Birthday Party marks the first time Léa Mysius has directed a film in contention for the festival’s Palme d’Or, the French filmmaker is no stranger to Cannes. Her sophomore feature – an odd, beguiling Adèle Exarchopoulos-starrer called The Five Devils – was a highlight of the 2022 Director’s Fortnight selection, and she helped write Claire Denis’ Grand Prix-winning Stars at Noon, as well as Jacques Audiard’s reviled-and-revered crime thriller musical Emilia Pérez, which in 2024 took home both the Jury Prize and Best Actress award.Low-lit and bluish, The Birthday Party is a slow-burn affair that allows Mysius’ penchant for high-contrast melodrama to shine through. Contained by its…

The Boy Meets World cast apparently didn’t always get along behind-the-scenes of the beloved sitcom. “They had some problems working together as … they grew up,” William Daniels’ wife, Bonnie Bartlett told Page Six in an interview published on Friday, May 22, adding that it is “very unusual” for child stars to “continue in the business” after acting onscreen at a young age. “They have grown up together. They’ve been very smart,” Bartlett, 96, stated. “They’ve done well — all of them. That’s very unusual in a cast with children. They’ve done a good job of that. They’re good people.…
Mark McCloskey, the St. Louis attorney who gained national notoriety in 2020 when he and his wife Patricia brandished firearms at Black Lives Matter protesters marching past their home, abruptly reversed course this month and announced he is resuming legal representation of clients who participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot — a reversal that arrived with conspicuous timing, just days after the Trump administration announced a $1.8 billion government fund potentially available to those who say they were victimized by the Justice Department under President Biden. In April, Mr. McCloskey had written to his Jan. 6 clients that…
Tulsi Gabbard is resigning from her post as director of national intelligence, disclosing that her husband is battling cancer. “Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026,” she told President Trump in her formal resignation letter. “My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer [and] faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. “At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.” She added, “His strength and love have sustained me through every challenge. I cannot in…
Spain’s Supreme Court on Thursday struck down a national registry for tourist accommodation to combat illegal short-term rentals, ruling that the central government had overstepped its authority into areas controlled by the regions. The central government “lacks the authority to establish an exhaustive regulation of a national registry that overlaps with regional registries already in existence”, the court said in a statement. The ruling deals a blow to Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s government, which has sought to tighten regulation of tourist rentals that are blamed for driving up housing costs in major cities by reducing the supply of long-term…
I recently talked to a marketer whose company added Claude to their org chart. Not as a joke, but as a real role, with defined responsibilities and a clear place in the workflow. I laughed at first, but the more I sat with it, the more it felt like a reflection of what’s already happening inside a lot of organizations, whether they’ve formally acknowledged it or not. According to McKinsey, 88% of organizations regularly use AI in at least one business function. It’s clear that AI isn’t sitting off to the side anymore. It’s being embedded in the work we…
