Bolivia and Scotland have confirmed their starting teams for their meeting in an international friendly in New Jersey on Saturday.

Returning to the finals for the first time since 1998, the Tartan Army start their campaign against Haiti next Saturday.

Bolivia beat Brazil to reach the play-offs for a spot at the finals but a 2-1 defeat to Iraq meant Oscar Villegas’ side missed out on a first appearance since 1994.

101GreatGoals.com has the team news and starting line-ups as Scotland’s preparations continue for the 2026 World Cup.

World Cup 2026 friendly: Bolivia confirmed team vs Scotland

Bolivia bring in three players compared to the team who started against Iraq. Yomar Rocha replaces injured right-back Diego Medina, with Ervin Vaca and Daniel Ribera also starting.

Midfielder Moises Villarroel is sidelined. Left-back Dieguito Rodriguez and attacking midfielder Jesus Maraude did not complete their visa paperwork and Hector Cuellar is absent because the midfielder has been completing a move to Bulgarian club CSKA 1948.

Bolivia starting XI: Guillermo Viscarra, Yomar Rocha, Luis Haquin, Efrain Morales, Roberto Fernandez, Robson Matheus, Ervin Vaca, Gabriel Villamil, Miguel Terceros, Daniel Ribera, Moises Paniagua

Bolivia substitutes: Carlos Lampe, Diego Arroyo, Lucas Macazaga, Marcelo Torrez, Leonardo Viviani, Nabil Nacif, Geronimo Govea, Guilmar Centella, Oscar Lopez, Carlos Melgar, Leonardo Zabala

World Cup 2026 warm-up: Scotland full line up vs Bolivia

Scotland make six alterations from their win over Curacao: Angus Gunn, Scott McTominay, Grant Hanley, Che Adams, Jack Hendry and Lewis Ferguson come in.

McTominay wins his 70th Scotland cap and Tyler Fletcher is on the bench after being called up to replace Billy Gilmour, the midfielder suffering a knee injury during the win over Curacao.

The 19-year-old Manchester United prospect had been training with the squad and made his debut as a half-time substitute at Hampden Park.

Craig Gordon returned from a shoulder injury in May and the 43-year-old played the first half of the game against Curacao but does not start this time.

John Souttar, Scott McKenna, Kenny McLean and George Hirst also move to the bench.

Middlesbrough forward Tommy Conway will miss the World Cup with an ankle problem but Southampton striker Ross Stewart could feature for Scotland for the first time since 2022, having suffered a string of serious injuries between his last international appearance and January this year.

Scotland starting XI: Angus Gunn, Aaron Hickey, Andy Robertson, Scott McTominay, Grant Hanley, Che Adams, Ryan Christie, Jack Hendry, Ben Gannon-Doak, Lewis Ferguson, Lawrence Shankland

Scotland substitutes: Liam Kelly, Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney, John McGinn, Tyler Fletcher, Lyndon Dykes, Ross Stewart, John Souttar, Dominic Hyam, George Hirst, Nathan Patterson, Kenny McLean, Anthony Ralston, Findlay Curtis, Scott McKenna

Kick-off on Saturday is at 21:00 BST (16:00 ET / 13:00 PT). Live coverage in the UK is on BBC Two and BBC Scotland.
