Both Richards sisters are former child stars. Kim Richards openly struggles with alcohol addiction, admitting during Season 2 that she’s an alcoholic. She’s been in and out of rehab for years.
Kyle took the drastic step in 2025 to evict her sister from the condo she’d been living rent-free. Kim Richards was recently spotted at a park in Santa Monica, California. Her disheveled appearance and the fact that she was only wearing one shoe worried fans.
Brandi Glanville Speaks Out On Former Friend’s Shocking Appearance
Brandi Glanville and Kim Richards are no longer friends, as they had a falling out in 2019. Kim publicly blamed it on her former friend posting a photo of her breast surgery scar on social media. The surgery was “tough” for Kim because doctors thought she might have breast cancer.
Kim Richards revealed that she asked her friend to take the photo down, but Brandi refused. They haven’t talked since. However, Brandi Glanville stood up for her former friend amid speculation about her mental health.
“She has her struggles. She’s living in Santa Monica. You guys caught her on a bench,” she said on her Brandi Unfiltered podcast. The reality star gave several reasons why Kim Richards may have taken one shoe off. Brandi Glanville said that maybe her foot hurt, or she had a rock in her shoe.
“Y’all need to stop projecting this nonsense on her. It’s hard enough, you know, being an addict and living in this town and being an ex-child star. Like, leave her alone,” Brandi said. According to Brandi, Kim’s four children live nearby and are in close contact with their mom.

One of Kim’s daughters, Whitney, is pregnant with her first child. Kyle Richards’ daughter, Farrah, is also pregnant.
