Alberta health officials confirmed seven cases this year, six tied to recent travel to Mexico and none to the United States, Jaye Lang, a spokesperson for the province’s primary and preventative health services, told CTV News. Across Canada, an average of 298 cases were reported annually between 2004 and 2023, the Public Health Agency of Canada said.
