Since Vanderpump Rules, Brittany Cartwright has been a fierce defender of her estranged husband, Jax Taylor. That carried over to The Valley, and viewers wondered what was wrong with her. It made them dislike her more, as she enabled him in many ways.
Now, with him gone, she is trying to be her own person, claiming she is “handling business.” At the same time, she also noted that she feels “safer” with him out of the picture. Keep reading for more from Brittany.
Brittany Has Broken Free
Before marrying Jax Taylor, fans and co-stars felt Brittany Cartwright could do better. They saw how he fat-shamed and cheated on her. When his father passed away ahead of Season 7 of Vanderpump Rules, he seemed like a changed man. That led them to become engaged, and everyone felt that this was a decent idea. However, Jax’s behavior continued to prove otherwise. He became erratic, and after Season 8, he and Brittany were gone from the show.
They landed on the spinoff, The Valley, but ahead of the premiere, they ended their marriage. The duo had a son, Cruz, and were supposedly trying for another. Unfortunately, his anger and addiction got out of hand. At the end of Season 2, it was announced he would not be returning. Jax comes up all of the time in Season 3, but Brittany claims she feels so much better with him gone:
“It’s been great to not have to have [Jax] around. It was a breath of fresh air. I felt a lot calmer and safer.”
Moreover, Brittany Cartwright noted how “dark” the show was when he was around. She also added that if he could be so horrible to her with the cameras on, think about what he did to her when the cameras were away. Eventually, she got smart and saw what the truth was:
“It was just, it was just a lot, but I finally took off the rose colored glasses and handled business.”
A New Look, A New Lease On Life
One big thing that Brittany Cartwright did was undergo a mommy makeover. In Season 4 of Vanderpump Rules, Jax Taylor bought her breasts. She wanted them out of her and a whole new body. Furthermore, she had a lot of insecurities after how Jax made her feel, so she felt it was time to get all shiny and new:
“There was like, stretch marks and different things that I was just uncomfortable with after the way I was treated, so I really wanted to like, work on my confidence and get that back.”
After watching Season 3, without Jax Taylor as part of The Valley cast, viewers still feel his presence. Moreover, they think that he is all Brittany Cartwright has as her storyline:
- Only storyline she has is Jax. She won’t stop ragging on him. Enough.
- And she does weird things and people are calling her out and she doesn’t like it. She married Jax because it was a strategic move for her. She never had confidence or self respect, she wouldn’t know it if it punched her in the throat.
It appears that no one is that fond of her, no matter how hard she pushes the narrative that she has changed. Do you think that Brittany makes for good television and has moved on, or are you over her? Let us know and stream The Valley on Peacock.
