Team Canada is in the semifinals of the 2026 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Geneva, Switzerland. On Thursday, Canada won Group B after beating the Czech Republic by a score of 6-5 and Switzerland by a score of 10-5. Canada finished with a record of eight wins and one loss, and will await the winner of Sweden and Scotland. The winner of the qualification game will play Canada in the semifinals.
In Canada’s win over the Czech Republic, the Canadian team of Kadriana and Colton Lott of Selkirk, Manitoba, was losing 4-2 after six ends, but scored a big three points in the seventh end with the hammer and take a 5-4 lead. Then after Petra Klimova and Lukas Klima tied the game at five, the Lotts won the game 6-5 with the hammer in the ninth end.
Then in Canada’s win over Switzerland’s Stefanie Berset and Philipp Hosli, Canada got off to a great start as they scored three points with the hammer in the first end, and stole two points in the second end without the hammer. Then in the third through seventh ends, Canada and Switzerland scored five points each.
Italy will play Japan in the other qualification game. Here, Australia, the Group A first place finisher, awaits the winner.
