The most competitive conference in Canadian university football has unveiled its schedule for the 2026 season.
Canada West action will begin on Friday, September 4, with an opening night doubleheader, as the University of British Columbia visits the University of Calgary, while the University of Alberta hosts the University of Regina. The University of Saskatchewan will visit the University of Manitoba the following day.
The conference will have 24 regular-season games played over nine weeks of action, ending on Saturday, October 31. Each team will play three opponents twice — home and away — and two opponents once. Week 6 is a designated bye week for all teams for the Thanksgiving Weekend.
Notably, provincial rivals Saskatchewan and Regina will play just once this season, on Saturday, September 26. That will mark a rematch of last season’s Hardy Cup game, in which the Huskies defeated the Rams by a score of 25-24.
The Canada West playoffs will commence with two semi-final games on Saturday, November 7. The 89th Hardy Cup will be played on Saturday, November 14, with the conference champion advancing to face the top team from the RSEQ in the Uteck Bowl for a berth in the Vanier Cup.
All games will be available for streaming on Canada West TV. Passes will go on sale in August.
