Fans can expect new episodes of Celebrity Jeopardy!, which was renewed for a fifth season earlier this year. However, a recent update shared that the show will face a schedule change. As this comes out, fans can already piece together a little of what to expect to watch.
Celebrity Jeopardy! Was Renewed For A Fifth Season Back In May
Celebrity Jeopardy! is a spin-off of the famous game show featuring celebrities as contestants. While the main series had featured celebrity-themed episodes as far back as 1992, it became a standalone series in 2022.
Back in May, ABC renewed the series for a fifth season, following the fourth season, Celebrity Jeopardy! All-Stars, wrapping up in the same month. However, fans were recently given an update concerning the series.
According to a press release, as shared by TV Insider, there won’t be a double dose of the series this year, as it will debut in 2027. Notably, it has also been pushed to midseason.
This means the season is expected to debut in January or February. Over the past four seasons, there hasn’t quite been a set month for the season to debut. The first two seasons premiered in September. The third season also came out in January, while the following Season 4 made its debut in March of its year.
The season was originally said to make its debut in the fall during the previous May announcement. At the time, Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, shared, “We enter this fall season from a position of undeniable strength.”

Erwich continued, “Our focus has always been simple: Make the best shows on television and get them to audiences however they want to watch. That strategy continues to drive the success of ABC and Hulu — from legacy hits being embraced by new generations to breakout series becoming the next cultural touchstones. With a standout slate of comedies, dramas, unscripted and live programming, alongside marquee events like the Super Bowl, the College Football Playoff, the Grammys, and the Oscars in 2027, our content engine is firing on all cylinders.”
It’s also unclear what day of the week fans should tune in to watch the show. Typically, Celebrity Jeopardy! airs on Wednesday nights. However, that slot is already taken by Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? as it enters its fifth season this October.
Ken Jennings is expected to return as the spin-off’s host. He hosts all versions of the game show aside from Pop Culture Jeopardy! and ESPN Jeopardy!, which are hosted by Colin Jost and Joe Buck, respectively. Both series are also exclusively on streaming.
For the time being, however, the season’s star-studded cast has not yet been announced. Considering the season itself has been pushed back, it is likely that the announcement will also be delayed. However, given that the fourth season was an All-Stars season, one can expect a list of all-new celebrities.
