Céline Dion’s Health Has Caused Her To Cancel Performances, But She Was Able To Perform At The 2024 Paris Olympics
Dion is a Canadian singer who started her career at a young age with her family. She gained international recognition when she won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988, representing Switzerland with the song, “Ne partez pas sans moi.” She later gained further recognition with cinematic theme songs, including “Beauty and the Beast” for the 1991 Disney film of the same name and “My Heart Will Go On” for Titanic.
Back in late 2022, the singer revealed that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome. This condition causes her hyper-rigidity and has given her trouble walking. This illness has also caused her to cancel extended tours, although she was able to perform at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On Friday, August 28, Dion made a rare appearance outside the Royal Monceau in Paris. She stopped to meet with fans and photographers ahead of her return to the stage there the next month.
During the outing, Dion could be seen wearing a beige trench coat. She could be seen with dark sunglasses, with her hair pulled back into a bun.

Months prior, Dion announced that she was giving herself a special birthday present. This was none other than a new residency in Paris at the Plénitude Arena.
In a video at the time, Dion shared, “This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life. I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you.” She is set to kick off her Paris residency in September before returning for additional performances in May 2027.
