News has come out that music icon Cher has recently filed for a conservatorship over her son. This followed him being involved in a string of arrests. Notably, this is also the second time she has filed for a conservatorship concerning him.
Cher Filed To Appoint A Conservator In Los Angeles Superior Court
Cher, born Cheryl Sarkisian, is a singer known for her career lasting decades, starting in the 1960s. Considered one of the best-selling music artists in history, she has sold over 100 million records.
Elijah Blue Allman is Cher’s son with singer and songwriter Gregg Allman. He himself is a musician, known for leading the group, Deadsy.
Recently, Cher has launched a legal bid for a conservatorship over Elijah’s estate following his recent arrests. This is believed to be the second time she has sought to gain control over her son’s financial affairs.
According to court reports from Page Six, Cher filed a petition to appoint a temporary conservator in Los Angeles Superior Court. She had requested that fiduciary Jason Rubin be in charge of Elijah’s finances.
This is the second time the music icon has filed for a conservatorship over her son’s estate. However, she previously filed to be appointed as the sole conservator. Back in 2024, it was reported that she had dropped the bid, with the matter being resolved privately.
This move comes out after Elijah had been involved in a string of arrests. Early last month, news had come out that Elijah was arrested over charges of felony burglary and breach of bail just days after he faced a charge of assault.
Elijah Reportedly Gets $120,000 A Year From His Father’s Trust
As the outlet shared, a filing read, “The life of Elijah Allman (‘proposed conservatee’) has significantly deteriorated since a prior conservatorship petition was filed in [December] 2023. The proposed conservatee is currently in custody in the State of New Hampshire in a locked psychiatric hospital.
It was said that this was done “in an attempt to restore him to competency to face criminal charges in two cases across two New Hampshire counties.” Elijah’s charges were listed as “felony burglary, criminal mischief, simple assault, criminal trespass and breach of bail, but that is just the current set of problems.”

According to Cher, Elijah was described as having “no concept of money.” He was further described as spending any money he obtained on “drugs, expensive hotels and limousine transportation.” It was also claimed that he failed to “pay any income taxes.”
Currently, Elijah receives money from his father’s estate. As the outlet noted, this includes $120,000 a year.
