President Donald Trump has often taken to Truth Social, a social media platform he helped develop, to make his views known. Recently, he’s made headlines for sharing a few images online. However, one viral image sparked a reaction from CNN’s Jake Tapper thanks to one issue with the image.

Jake Tapper Recently Discussed A Viral Image From Trump, Which Has Already Inspired A Few Foreign Responses

Tapper is known for his work with CNN. In addition to hosting his own namesake series, The Lead with Jake Tapper, he also co-hosts the Sunday morning public affairs program, State of the Union.

On the May 6 episode of The Lead, Tapper discussed a certain image of the president found on Truth Social. At the time, it was noted that the meme had already got a foreign response, thanks in part to an error made.

In the viral image, Trump appeared to be holding a deck of UNO cards. It had been captioned, “I have all the cards.”

However, the issue, as Tapper noted, was that the object is to lose all your cards in UNO. In other words, it’s a bad position to have all the cards in the game.

During The Discussion, Tapper’s Guest, Peter Pomerantsev, Mused That There Was A Certain Reason Behind The Iranian Embassies’ Response

As Tapper noted, “Now, unfortunately, if you’ve ever played Uno, the objective is to have no cards. Having all the cards is a losing hand.”

Tapper noted that the meme already inspired a reaction overseas. As he continued, “So, the Iranian Consulate General in India replied on X with a meme saying, yes, we have less cards, and his cards are draw four, which is how you win Uno, forcing the other person to have all the cards.”

According to Tapper, the Iranian Embassies in other countries also responded with similar viral images and videos. As he shared, “The Iranian Embassy in Thailand posted this Trump campaign poster saying, Trump twenty twenty-eight per gallon, $20.28 per gallon, mocking high gas prices.”

Tapper also invited Peter Pomerantsev, a senior fellow at the Johns Hopkins Agora Institute, known for investigating propaganda, to weigh in on the story. As Pomerantsev theorized, “They’re weaponizing American culture against itself, which is, you know, the really clever thing to do in propaganda. You’re using kind of the force of your enemy against them.”

Pomerantsev also suspected that these responsive memes aim to make the war in Iran unpopular among Trump’s own base. He shared, “These videos are going for MAGA supporters.” However, he noted that only time will tell if this move proves effective.
