Fans have been following Collin Gosselin’s story for years, even after the end of his family’s reality show. Recently, news has come out that Collin hopes to share more of his story with an upcoming book. Before this, he already shared what he hopes to accomplish with his writing.
Collin Gosselin’s Book, In the Shadow of Eight, Is Set For An October Release
Collin is one of the eight children of Jon and Kate Gosselin. The family had gained recognition through the reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8. Following his parents’ divorce, the show was retooled as Kate Plus 8.
In 2016, Collin was enrolled at an inpatient center by his mother. In 2018, Jon won sole physical and legal custody of Collin, returning home with him. Reportedly, the only children Jon still sees are Collin and Hannah.
Collin is set to reveal his side of the story with his personal new read, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood. The book is set for release on October 16, 2026, and is already available for preorder.
Recently, Collin sat down with Us Weekly to tease fans with what to expect from the book. He shared, “My life was always broadcast to millions, but what was actually happening in my life was never shown — in fact, much of it was deliberately kept hidden. For years, other people told my story through headlines, television episodes, and public speculation.”
Collin Expressed Hope That The Book Will Inspire Others To Share Their Stories
Collin discussed the themes that would appear in the book, teasing that some stories would come to light for the first time. He shared, “Now, finally, I’m sharing what was really happening behind the scenes. This book is about truth, survival, resilience and finding my voice after years of being silenced.”
Collin also discussed what he hopes to accomplish with the book: inspiring others to share their own stories as well. As he shared, “If my story helps even one person feel less alone or gives them the courage to tell their own, then every difficult page was worth writing.”
Taking to Instagram, Collin also shared the book’s cover in a few posts, with one also including a video montage of his younger years. During these posts, he also shared similar sentiments: “I not only poured my heart into this book for my younger self, but for ALL who have faced unfair and outright heinous acts as children. I am your voice. I stand with you.”
