He announced on social media this week that he has a memoir coming out later this year. In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood comes out on October 13. The book reportedly shares new details about his claims that he was held in isolation in the basement of the family’s home.
Collin Gosselin Shades Kate, Pays Tribute To ‘Real’ Mom
Coincidentally, the birthday of a very important person in his life was on the same day he announced the book. He took to Instagram with a special dedication to his “real” mom. After divorcing Kate, Jon Gosselin dated Colleen Conrad from 2014 until they split in 2021. During their seven years together, Colleen Conrad helped raise Collin.
He paid tribute to their relationship in a heartfelt Instagram post. “She is the strongest woman I know, who stepped in at the toughest part of my life and CHOSE to be a mother to me. Happy birthday to my wonderful, hardworking, passionate, and I could go on… to my real mom ❤️ I love you so much,” he wrote in the post, which included a photo of them together.
The tribute left Colleen Conrad in tears. “I’ll always be here for you and you are my son. I love you!” she wrote in the comments. Collin Gosselin also took to the comments to share more about how much she means to him. “The love you feel for a mom you were given is incredible. But the love you feel for a mom that CHOSE you is something so powerful.”
