With the follow-up series returning for a second season, Reilly recently discussed what fans can expect from the ongoing story. Notably, she teased that one character was especially going to be center stage during this new season, while sharing a few words of praise for a few of her co-stars.
Fans First Saw Kelly Reilly As Beth Dutton On Yellowstone Back In 2018
Over the years, Reilly has become known for a variety of shows. The English actress has had roles on both sides of the pond, appearing in Above Suspicion, True Detective, and Britannia.
However, many know her best as Beth Dutton on Yellowstone from 2018 to 2024. However, Beth’s story, alongside Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler, was continued on the spin-off, Dutton Ranch.
Dutton Ranch recently wrapped up its first season earlier this month. Since then, fans are wondering what could happen next with its second season, especially as it was renewed back in June.
Recently, Reilly spoke with TV Insider and teased who the next season would get more focus with the new season. In particular, she also shared who wouldn’t. As she explained, “I think season 2 is going to feel very much more Ed [Harris]’ show. This is not the Beth and Rip show. This is Dutton Ranch, and there’s four lead characters.”
Rip Wheeler’s Cole Hauser Also Expressed Praise For Ed Harris
On the show, Harris plays Everett McKinney. His character is a Vietnam War Navy vet who also serves as the local veterinarian.
However, Harris wasn’t the only actor that Reilly highlighted during the discussion, also praising Annette Bening. She continued, “It’s such a privilege to have them come join our show. I’ve said this before, I feel like they made us legit.”
Reilly also felt that the two actors were a big influence on making the show what it is. She explained, “We could have just been a little soapy spinoff and we’re not because of them. We’re a drama, we’re a new show, and it’s got some heavyweights in it. We’re very proud to be working with them.”
Meanwhile, Cole Hauser also shared praise for Harris. He shared, “Obviously, Annette is phenomenal, but I cannot wait to work more with [Ed.] He’s such an amazing American actor that I think was used very sparingly this year. We’re going to make sure that he is a big part of helping us, moving forward in whatever capacity.”
