Celebrities are real people too with real feelings and real issues. In fact, Dancing with the Stars alum Hilaria Baldwin is opening up about one of her major struggles in life – living with an eating disorder. Keep reading to learn how she feels about it now and how she’s gotten through it.
Hilaria Baldwin’s life
Hilaria Baldwin is most famously known for being married to Alec Baldwin. They have been married since 2012, and have since had seven children together. However, she’s had quite the career on her own as well.
In 2025, Hilaria Baldwin took to the stage as a new star on Dancing with the Stars. She was partnered with pro Gleb Savchenko. The dancing duo made it to Disney night before being sent home.
However, despite her success, she struggles with internal issues. One of those is an issue with eating and how she views herself.
DWTS Alum Struggling With Food
Weight is a big deal to a lot of women, especially women who spend a lot of time in front of a camera. Hilaria knows first-hand how hard that is. According to Page Six, she was so stressed about her eating that at one point she was even thinking about the calories in her toothpaste – something most people never think twice about.
The star reveals that she’s dealt with basically every eating disorder there is.
“I did all of it. I did anorexia, I did bulimia, I did overeating, I did undereating,” she explains.
Of course, as most with eating struggles do, Hilaria thought she looked huge all the time. But now, she looks back at photos and realizes she looks totally fine.
“I look back and I looked fine,” she says. “But I thought I was a whale [back then]. I just thought there was something broken inside of me.”
However, eventually, she made the decision to not let this run her life. Especially because she wanted to be a mother. She explains just how exhausting and stressful it is to have an eating disorder.
“I don’t want to live this way; I’m miserable,” she says about her struggles. “I can’t have good relationships, I can’t have good friendships, I can’t eat out to dinner with people. It’s just so, so, so stressful.”
Changing For Her Kids
Now, her life is totally turned around. Not only is she taking care of herself, but she’s making sure her children have a good relationship with food as well.
“What I try to do with my kids is empower them, talk about strength, talk about, ‘How does the food make you feel?’” she says.
It seems as though the DWTS alum is doing everything she can to keep herself and her family from going to a dark place.
