ESPN’s very own Matt Miller was in a car accident that could have taken his life, but instead, his arm was amputated. Despite this new challenge and way of life, Matt is sharing how his lease on life has changed. Keep reading for all of the details on what happened and how he is adapting.

    Matt Miller Nearly Lost Life

It was the afternoon of June 17th when Matt Miller was driving his 2023 Ford Bronco. The ESPN personality was in Jasper County, Missouri, when authorities claim that he crossed over the line. That was when his Bronco collided with a semi-truck, and both Oronogo Fire, Jasper County Deputies, and METS ambulance rushed to the scene.

From the photos, Matt’s Bronco was a shell of itself. The front wheels had been ripped off, but the color is visible. It appears to have been teal or green. However, there is no coming back for the SUV. The semi also sustained a fair share of damage, but what about the drivers? Matt had to have his left arm amputated in the process, but he seems grateful for what happened. He had to be flown to the hospital due to his injuries. Ultimately, he sustained “multiple fractures and broken ribs.” Then, the ESPN analyst needed the amputation in order to save his life.

After what occurred, things could have been so much worse. Therefore, to lose an arm is an awful twist of events. Yet, Matt Miller spoke up on social media, and he knows just how lucky he is to even be alive. He knows that there is so much more that he will have to endure to get to where he needs to. However, he is appreciative to all who have supported and loved him during this horrible time.

Last week, I was involved in a serious car accident in Missouri and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital. I’m deeply grateful for the exceptional care I have received, from the first responders to the doctors, nurses and medical staff. I’m incredibly fortunate to be writing this.…

    • Truly goes to show life can change in an instant at any time. Praying for your recovery and healing for sure!
    • One day at a time and you’ll build up some good momentum! You have a ton of good people in your corner, best wishes, Matt!
