Filming is now in its final stages for Sandrine Kiberlain’s second feature film as a director, Les quatre rendez-vous de Françoise, which began on 15 April and will wrap up on 2 June. As a reminder, the actress made her directorial debut with A Radiant Girl, which premiered at Cannes during the 2021 Critics’ Week.
Sandrine Kiberlain (six-time César nominee for Best Actress and winner in 2014 for 9 Month Stretch, who also appeared this year in Whatever It Takes and will soon be seen in Ni vue, ni connue and Banquise) heads the cast alongside the British actress Charlotte Rampling (winner of the Best Actress Award at Berlin and nominated for the 2016 Oscar for Best Actress for 45 Years, crowned Best Actress at Venice in 2017 for Hannah, nominated three times for a César, looking her best last year in Father Mother Sister Brother and Two Pianos, and set to appear in 2027 notably in Santo Subito!) and Rebecca Marder (nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actress in 2023 for A Radiant Girl and Grand Expectations, and well-received last year in The Stranger). Also joining the line-up are the young Camille Lethuillier (noted in Out of Love and The Money Maker), Édouard Baer (nominated for the 2019 César Award for Best Actor for Mademoiselle de Joncquières and twice in the Supporting Actor category), the Swiss actor Arcadi Radeff (highly acclaimed in That Summer in Paris, and seen briefly at Cannes in A Woman’s Life) and the Canadian Pierre-Yves Cardinal (Tom at the Farm, The Nature of Love).
Written by the director, the screenplay centres on Françoise, an actress hoping to find true love, at four stages of her life, at four different ages…
Les quatre rendez-vous de Françoise was produced by Olivier Delbosc for Curiosa Films and co-produced by French company France 3 Cinéma and Belgian company Umedia. Pre-bought by Canal+, Ciné+ OCS and France Télévisions, the feature also received support from Sofica Palatine Etoile, Cineaxe and Entourage. International sales are handled by Playtime and Ad Vitam will handle distribution in France.
As a reminder, Curiosa Films is currently in post-production on Les Misérables by Fred Cavayé (read the article – French release on 14 October).
