General Hospital Steve Burton’s Custody Battle With Ex-Wife Hits New Low
Sheree Burton showed off her growing baby bump on social media in 2022. Notoriously private soap star Steve Burton quickly clarified on social media that they were separated and the baby wasn’t his. He officially filed for divorce a month later. She’s since welcomed at least one more child.
Two of his three kids with his ex-wife are adults. They share joint legal and physical custody of their youngest daughter, Brooklyn. But the former couple have butted heads for several years now over custody. Steve Burton relocated to Tennessee after his ex moved there. However, she eventually returned to California and wouldn’t let their daughter visit her father.
According to TMZ, the custody fight has reached a new low. The General Hospital star filed new legal documents accusing his ex of creating scheduling obstacles to prevent him from seeing his daughter. He accused his ex of “blatant parental alienation.”
Steve Burton claimed that Sheree refused to work with him to get their daughter to Tennessee to visit him. But that’s not the only issue.
He Claims His Ex Refuses To Accept New Wife
Steve Burton found love again after his heartbreaking divorce. He married Michelle Lundstrom in 2025. The actor took a break from the ABC soap earlier this year to spend more time with his wife on their first anniversary. He’s expected to return to the show soon and was recently spotted on set.
In his court filings, Steve Burton claimed that his ex refuses to “acknowledge Michelle’s role as my wife or Michelle’s daughters” as Brooklyn’s stepsisters. Furthermore, he claimed that Sheree texted him, “I am not ok with Michelle picking Brooklyn up from school tomorrow.”
Sheree denied her ex-husband’s accusations. She responded that she is flexible about scheduling time for Steve Burton to see their daughter as long as it’s in their daughter’s best interests. And she doesn’t want her daughter away from home for longer than 3 weeks.
