Michael Strahan has had a storied career over the years, from pro football player to television personality. His career has brought him to all sorts of projects and has allowed him to meet all sorts of people. In fact, he recently opened up about one less-than-successful venture that saw him join forces with Snoop Dogg. During the conversation, however, he shared that the project ended up really having an impact on the trajectory of his career.

Good Morning America‘s Michael Strahan Opened Up About One Short-Lived Series During A Recent Podcast Appearance

Strahan previously played in the National Football League for 15 seasons with the New York Giants. He was ultimately inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.

Following his retirement from the NFL, Strahan has since established himself as a media personality. Notably, viewers have seen him as a football analyst on Fox NFL Sunday and a co-anchor on Good Morning America.

Over the years, Strahan has flirted with an acting career. Notably, in 2009, he starred as Michael Trainor in the sitcom Brothers.

On the show, Strahan and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell played estranged brothers who are pressured into getting along by their family after an accident leaves Chill in a wheelchair. Strahan’s character returns home following his own retirement from the NFL, mirroring his own real-life career.

During one notable episode, rapper and record producer Snoop Dogg guest-starred as the brothers’ cousin Kenny, a shady lawyer. The character notably appeared in two episodes.

The series originally aired on Fridays before moving twice in the schedule. The show was ultimately cancelled after just a few episodes.

Strahan Felt That He Was A Bit Too ‘Green’ For The Show

However, Strahan hasn’t forgotten the project, having recently discussed it on Rhyon Brown’s The Open Door Podcast. Despite the show’s short run, Strahan looked back fondly on it, although he felt he was a bit inexperienced as an actor at the time.

As Strahan shared, “I did a show, Brothers, on Fox for a year, and it was great. I mean, incredible cast. But I was so green and knew nothing about acting. I’m in that world, and I’m kind of looking around, ‘OK, I gotta figure this out!’ But I enjoyed it.”

While Strahan has maintained a place in the world of media, he felt that the show taught him that acting wasn’t necessarily for him. As he shared, “But I realized that there were probably guys out there who had more commitment to acting than I did at that time in my life, that I was taking this opportunity from them.”

Strahan Shared A Few Life Lessons He Had From Appearing On The Show

The Good Morning America star continued, “Why am I just sitting here doing something I’m half-a**ed passionate about instead of trying to keep on figuring out what I really am passionate about and what I really feel comfortable doing? And so when that passed, I wasn’t upset about it. I was like, ‘OK, but that was a cool experience.’”

That said, Strahan felt that the acting experience had come in handy during his shows, such as during “skits for Thanksgiving or Halloween.” Taking what happened as a learning experience, he shared that he learned, “Life is about learning, evolving, [and] figuring things out. Something fails. It’s a failure, but it’s not because I learned what to do and what not to do on the next thing, and there’s always some joy, no matter what the experience is. There’s some joy line you can find in there that’s only going to help you down the road.”

What is your reaction to Michael Strahan’s recent share? Have you been following this story? Are you keeping up with Good Morning America? Make sure you come back to TV Shows Ace for all the latest TV and celebrity news.
