With one of the world’s largest sporting events in the world happening in Canada this summer, the Bell network is ready to go. There are about to be a lot of phones in the Greater Toronto Area streaming games, livestreaming reactions, and keeping up to date on the social media action, which is why Bell is making one of its largest mobile network investments — more than $25 million — to support the upcoming tournament in Toronto and Vancouver.
An influx of visitors
As the first carrier in Canada to deploy 5G+ Advanced using 3800MHz spectrum with 5CA, Bell has ensured that its network can meet the demand with an influx of visitors this summer. Recent testing confirms Bell’s move from 4 to 5 CA is delivering meaningful performance gains, with speeds increasing by about 24 per cent.
This ensures Canadians can enjoy all the game action as it happens. Faster upload speeds and optimized network coverage across key locations like airports, soccer stadiums, transit lines, fan zones, and watch parties allow fans to share meaningful moments in real time. The result is a more seamless, more reliable experience for fans, media, and partners alike, so no one misses a moment.
Bell will have dedicated network monitoring along with rapid-response teams ready to move quickly and keep everything running smoothly. Plus, an additional 220 new cell sites are planned across 130 communities in 2026 so that Canadians can enjoy improved connectivity and service.
Most of the investments Bell is making will be permanent across stadiums, fan zones, transit systems, and airports. What benefits Toronto amidst an incredibly popular event will continue to benefit it with long-term legacy and impact.
