Howard Stern’s radio shows on SiriusXM have been the topic of discussion for a while as fans worry that they will soon be cut. Unfortunately, those rumors are coming true, as one of his stations is officially being handed over to TV icon Andy Cohen. Keep reading for all the details.
Losing Howard 101
Howard Stern, one of the most famous radio hosts in the world, has been on the air in some form since 1986. However, as previously reported, that is changing a bit starting today. Prior to this switch, Howard had two Sirius stations. Howard 100 is where the new content goes, and Howard 101 is archival. However, through all these changes, Howard has been bumped down to just one new show a week. Given the dwindling number of shows put out by Howard now, he has been demoted to just Howard 100. So, no more archival stories on the airwaves. However, that does mean an open spot for someone new to come in.
Now, that spot is being filled, and what was once a 2025 prank is coming true – sort of.
In September of last year, there was a joke going around that Andy Cohen, legendary Bravo host, would be taking over Howard’s show. Now, that prank is coming true, The Sun reports.
“Last year we pranked the world. We made everybody think that I was taking over Howard 100,” Andy says in a video. “It was the best morning. Now the carrot is being dangled that Radio Andy will be taking over 101. Is this a prank? Am I being pranked?” he continues.
Andy is not being pranked – he is actually taking over Howard’s second station.
“No, you are not being pranked. And Andy has been gracious enough to take over 101. And I have one request: Please continue the tradition of doing a lot of gay antics,” Howard responds.
Of course, Andy answers with “Your show is gayer than mine!”
A Fight Between The Two
While this handoff seems pleasant, that isn’t necessarily true. In fact, there has been some drama between the two in the past. Especially as Howard notices how Sirius is pushing him out and raising Andy Cohen up. A source notes that one Sirius exec even has a big framed picture of Andy up on his wall behind his desk. Clearly their priority is no longer Howard Stern.
“Andy’s interviews are regularly promoted by Sirius, while you just don’t hear much about Howard’s interviews these days,” a source says.
