Ayo, Huh Yunjin and ILLIT are giving K-pop fans something to talk about. LE SSERAFIM’s Huh Yunjin teamed up with ILLIT on HUH-PUMP, a new collaborative project connecting two of HYBE’s biggest girl groups.
The name is clever. HUH pulls from Yunjin’s surname, and PUMP is a recurring piece of ILLIT’s branding. Put them together and you’ve got something that feels like a real fusion of both acts’ identities. Not a random pairing.
The announcement hit Instagram from the official LE SSERAFIM account, with the caption “It’s me HUH-PUMP❗️” and hashtags for both groups. The campaign tag #PUMPwithILLIT was also included. That tag hints at some kind of fan-participation rollout. The exact format and timeline haven’t been spelled out yet.
ODD ATELIER is listed as a creative partner on the project. The studio has ties to K-pop visual and creative work. Their involvement is a good sign. Whatever’s coming has been properly built out.
Both groups sit under the HYBE umbrella, K-pop’s biggest entertainment company. LE SSERAFIM operates under Source Music, one of HYBE’s subsidiaries. HYBE has connected its artists across labels before. A named collaboration with its own brand identity like HUH-PUMP is a step above a regular feature or one-off guest spot.
LE SSERAFIM debuted in 2022 and moved fast. The group became one of the most talked-about fourth-generation girl groups in K-pop, known for high-energy performances and a strong global push. They performed at Coachella in 2024, a big milestone for any K-pop act. Huh Yunjin has built a solid solo following on top of the group’s success. She’s LE SSERAFIM’s primary English-speaking member and has been carving out her own creative identity separate from group activities.
ILLIT is newer. The group debuted in 2024 under HYBE and made noise quickly. Their debut single “Magnetic” went viral on short-form video platforms and introduced the group to listeners well outside the core K-pop fanbase. The #PUMPwithILLIT tag fits their history of fan-participation campaigns going back to their debut era.
The Instagram post pulled in over 62,000 likes.
Real talk, this looks like HYBE playing chess. Both groups bring different energy and very different audiences. Mixing Yunjin’s individual star power with ILLIT’s campaign-friendly rollout style is a smart play. Fans are already throwing out theories. Is HUH-PUMP a song, a content series, a merch drop, or something bigger? Nobody’s confirmed the format yet.
More details should surface soon. The campaign is clearly still unfolding. Either way, the K-pop internet is locked in.
