More leaks about Apple’s plans to shake things up have surfaced. MacRumors reports that the iPhone 18 model will launch in early 2027, which it says it learned from a partner in the company’s supply chain.

While Apple typically unveils its new handsets in September, multiple reports claim that Apple will only unveil its Pro models this fall alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Next year, Apple will unveil the iPhone 18 alongside the 18e and iPhone Air 2.

MacRumors reports that at Largan Precision’s annual shareholding meeting, the chairman said that a major U.S. customer had postponed the launch of a new model until the first quarter of 2027. While not specifically calling out Apple, Largan Precision is Apple’s primary supplier of iPhone camera lenses.

Previous reports indicate that Apple is planning to split all future iPhone launches across two releases, with premium models launching in September and lower-cost models releasing in the spring. Reportedly, Apple is staggering its launches to help the company with manufacturing resources as its lineup grows with a sixth phone.

Apple hasn’t had split iPhone launches in about 15 years.
