Jelly Roll Joins The Likes Of Anthony Anderson & Rosie O’Donnell As Guest Hosts On Jimmy Kimmel Live! This Summer
Jimmy Kimmel is currently on summer break from his Live! talk show. He is currently expected to return to the show in early September.
In the meantime, various guest hosts are filling in on the show. This includes Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Anthony Anderson, and Rosie O’Donnell. Recently, musician Jelly Roll filled in as a guest host and has been making headlines.
Jelly Roll is known for generally avoiding politics. At times, he has expressed that he doesn’t have a political party affiliation and has even denied being too familiar with world events. Despite this, he was willing to make a joke concerning President Donald Trump during his recent stint as a host.
At the time, Jelly Roll discussed the IndyCar race in Washington, D.C., which is hosted by Trump. Calling the event the “main event in America this weekend,” he then joked, “The president seemed to enjoy the IndyCar race, which was a real switch-up for him because normally he only likes his own race.”
As the routine continued, Jelly Roll quipped, “Trump also drove around the track in his motorcade doing what they call the ‘lap of honor.’ Which sounds like a loyalty program at a strip club.”
The musician continued, “Sadly, those are the only laps Trump’s been doing lately. According to The Washington Post, a lot of doctors are worried about the president’s weight. After his last physical, we found out Trump gained 14 pounds, which means he’s now tipping the scales of almost 240.”

Jelly Roll then started to poke fun at his own weight, joking, “That means I’ve lost an entire Donald Trump. And let’s be honest, based on his approval rating, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing.”
Towards the end, the joke took a blue turn. As Jelly Roll shared, “Well, Mr. President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. And trust me, you’ll be happy to see your penis again.”
This isn’t the first time Kimmel has been a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel’s show. Last year, he made his late-night hosting debut during Kimmel’s annual summer break on July 16.
